Privacy Policy
Version 2026-08-06
1. What we collect
Everyone: your phone number (used to sign you in), and optionally an email address, your name, city, a short bio, and a profile photo. We record when you last signed in, and which version of these policies you accepted and when.
Tradespeople: the trades you offer, years of experience, the areas you serve, availability, which payment methods you accept, portfolio photos, and the identity and qualification documents you upload for verification. If you opt in to “near me” discovery, we store approximate, area-level coordinates — never your precise home address.
From using the service: jobs posted, quotes, messages sent through the app, job check-ins, completion confirmations, reviews and ratings, endorsements, disputes and their evidence, competency assessment results, and notifications we send you.
2. Why we use it and on what basis
We use your information to provide the service you asked for: signing you in, showing your profile, matching jobs to tradespeople, letting parties message each other, verifying identity and qualifications, calculating trust and ranking signals, handling disputes, and keeping the platform safe. We rely on your consent — given when you create your account — together with our legitimate interest in operating a safe, trustworthy marketplace and in meeting our legal obligations. We do not use your data for automated decisions with legal effects, and we do not sell it or use it for third-party advertising.
3. Identity and qualification documents
Documents you upload to prove identity or qualifications are stored privately, separately from your public profile. They are never shown publicly and are never attached to your profile page. Only authorised KaziJura verifiers and administrators can open them, and they do so through short-lived, single-purpose links that are logged and audited. What appears publicly is only the outcome — for example an “ID verified” badge — never the document itself. We keep these documents while your account is active and for up to 24 months after your account closes, so we can answer challenges to a verification decision, then delete them.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the platform, and only as far as they need it: an SMS provider to deliver your sign-in codes (which receives your phone number), a cloud object-storage provider that holds uploaded photos and documents, and our hosting provider that runs the application and database. Some of these providers operate outside Zimbabwe, which means your data may be stored or processed abroad under their security commitments. We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of our users. Other users see only what your profile and activity make visible — your phone number is not shown to other users; in-app messaging is designed so parties can talk without exposing personal numbers.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. When you close it, we delete or anonymise your profile within 90 days, except where we must keep something longer: verification documents as described above, and records tied to disputes, safety incidents, or legal obligations, which we keep for as long as they are needed for that purpose. Reviews and job records may remain visible in anonymised form so that other users’ histories stay intact and trust signals remain meaningful.
6. Security
Access to personal data is restricted to the people who need it, verification documents are held in private storage reachable only through short-lived audited links, and administrative actions on sensitive records are logged. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but if a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the relevant authorities without undue delay.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete your account and data, or stop using your data in a particular way. You can also withdraw the consent you gave at sign-up — although without it we cannot keep providing the service. You can edit most profile details yourself in the app. For anything else, write to admin@kazijura.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may complain to the data-protection authority in Zimbabwe.
8. Children
KaziJura is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we will delete such an account if we become aware of one.
9. Changes & contact
If we materially change this policy, we will publish the new version here with a new version number and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in. This is version 2026-08-06. For any privacy question or request, contact KaziJura Technologies (Pvt) Ltd at admin@kazijura.com.
